Katherine Emerson Renz, of Bellingham , WA passed away November 7, 2011 surrounded by her family. Katie was 40, born in Seoul Korea on April 10, 1971.
Katie graduated from Western Washington University with degrees in both history and education. She was a loving mother, good friend, and an avid paper crafter and member of a vast online community that rallied around her during her battle with cancer. Through Katie’s blog katiespaperhaven.blogspot.com she was able to share her experience with an on-line community which transformed into a supportive group of thousands of real tangible individuals; supporting her with their kind words, thousands of cards, donations, and kind gifts.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin;
sons, Hunter, Nathaniel, and William Renz;
parents, William and Karen Emerson;
sibilings, Mira Gobel, Robert Park, Miles Emerson, Eden Emerson;
niece, Emylee Gobel and nephews Bryson Gobel and Daniel Park.
A memorial service for Katie will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday November 14, 2011, at Moles Funeral Home – Bayview Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery .

Nancy my prayers for the family and for all Katie's friends.. I know what you feel I lost a friend on August of this year (missing my friend two days before my birthday)

I am so sad to learn of Katie's death today. I send you my thoughts and prayers upon losing such a special friend.
