Downloaded Image Oopsie!

Now that Valentine's Day is past I can share my oopsie.  I had been saving some free digital images to make a personalized card for my husband.  I totally love vintage images and this one reminded me of our former arctic romance for we met and married back in Barrow six years ago yesterday.  Anyhow, what a shocker to see how it printed out!  Unbeknownst to me, our printer is on the fritz.  One of the jets must be clogged because all my lovely images came out yellow and yucky!  A few had even lost some of their details.  :-(

What to do?  Grab from my small collection of Copic markers and start coloring.  It took many layers of color and freehanding back in the details to get these results.  Once it had dried I also brushed on a layer of shimmer mist to try to mask the yellow cast and hopefully make it look a tad bit more aged.  In any case, I finshed up coloring the image, cut it out, and put it on my card.  It's a mish-mash of styles but my Valentine honey didn't mind.  He loved it.  :-)

Oh the lengths I'd go to not to waste a silly piece of cardstock.  Uhg!  It was worth the coloring that's for sure.  I love, love to color.

Hope you are having a wonderful day!  Thank you for visiting me today!

By the way, this was us six years ago under the whale bone arches.  Behind us is the arctic ocean.  It was about twenty below zero with a windchill to about forty below.  I was so happy and in love that I didn't notice how cold it was... besides that we made it a quick photo shoot on the way to our recpetion.  ;-)
