Stamp & Flower of the Month - CDStamps

Can it truly be the last day of the month? I can't believe how fast February has blown by. It just seems like yesterday that I was at my Mom's in California for the holidays and now it's already going on the third month of the new year. CRAZY! Speaking of time, today is the last day of the sneak peaks for Clear Dollar Stamps. This time around I am sharing my samples made with "Sweet Hummingbird March Stamps of the Month 2009" and "March Flower of the Month".

We are off for a day in town with the family today. So I have to write fast... :-) For the most part I have a collection of florals to share. Each card has a different tone from distress to geometric and from shimmery to matte. In any case I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed making them.

Ageless Antiques - Clear Dollar Stamps Previews

The art for the new stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps called "Ageless Antiques" is totally me. I guess it must be my recent move to a more rustic way of life that makes this set so me or my love of all things vintage. This set has six antiques with a mix of silly sentiments.

For my samples I altered a cookie tin and designed a card. Now with the altered item not only did I recycle the cookie tin but I also recycled/reused the raspberry ribbon. I picked up the ribbon at CHA on promo item. I just couldn't help but keep it for a project such as this. What's really cool is that it matches the tin just right. :-)

I hope you are having a fabulous Friday. Don't forget to check-out all the Design Team previews too. So many clever creations!

In God's Hands - Clear Dollar Stamps

Today's Clear Dollar Stamp previews include "In God's Hands" & "Old Time Church". "In God's Hands" is a sentiment set that is an incredible addition to any stampers collection. I totally love the Christian theme and the little accent stamps included with this set. To add to "In God's Hands" is the "Old Time Church" stamps. Both collections can be used to create cards and projects that are a blessing to others. Now who doesn't like that? :-)

I've already showed you one of the cards that I made with "In God's Hands" yesterday. Here's my second card using this set. The color combo and sketch was inspired by our design team challenges.

Clear Dollar Stamp Previews!

So many fabulous new designs coming up in March from Clear Dollar Stamps. Today's cards are to mainly feature the new "Art Deco Medallions" set but they also incorporate two other upcoming sets that I will share more on later this week.

"Art Deco Medallions" is the set that I used to embellish my backgrounds. With one card I completely stamped my background starting from a blank note card. (See the blue card.) Whereas, the other background was done on designer cardstock from Basic Grey. (See the pink card). Both styles of background stamping makes for a unique and very eye catching look.

I hope you have enjoyed my latest creations. Each one has been a joy to design and share.

What a blessing to have been tagged by Corie, Creations by Corie and by Marianne (Copic Expert Extraordinar) of I Like Markers. It's a blessing to me because I've had such a tough time to keep up with blogging over the last six months and besides that they are awesome artists!

Janessa's Journey Update!

I haven't had much internet time to blurf (blog surf) but this morning I saw a post from Korin on her niece Janessa. I've been praying for little Janessa since I first learned of her battle with cancer. Here's the most wonderful news as posted on Korin's blog Inky Doodle:

Janessa's Journey-WOOHOO!
Been meaning to share this but just now getting to it....

From Julie last Tuesday:

"Perfectly normal cells".....those were the doctor's words when he looked at her marrow sample. We are so thrilled with the outcome and we want to make sure that God gets all the credit and the glory for this outcome and for bringing us through this journey over these past 10 months. She is in remission.....but we also have the reality that they will continue to watch her for five years before she will be considered cured. Jamie and I were talking and wondering why we weren't more "excited" and trying to figure out our reactions today. I think first of all, that from the beginning, we truly believed that she would survive this. I think also that we are so tired and spent both physically and emotionally. We're extremely grateful, but there's a quiet and a calm instead of a jubilant shouting....God is so good.

We want to thank all of you who have prayed so faithfully for us as a family and for Janessa specifically, that God would touch her body and heal her. Thanks too for you notes of encouragement, hugs, and just your overwhelming love shown to us. We would not have made it through this without your support.

So grateful!!

Jamie and Julie

Josiah, Kayla, Michael, Jacob, and especiallly Janessa

Psalm 40: 1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;

He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.

Praise the LORD!!!!! I cannot thank you all enough for your prayers and encouragement through this trying time. God has used each of you in a tremendous way!

Please continue to keep Janessa and my brother's family in your prayers.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
~Korin

PRAISE THE LORD INDEED!

UH-OH!

My daughter has a fascination of all things "Mommy". Stamping is no exception. When she sees me at my desk she climbs up unto my chair into the gap between me and the chair and then she peers over my shoulder to see what I am doing. She is so intent in seeing everything. Sometimes I think she holds her breath just waiting to see what I'll do next. I can only imagine what she's thinking. It's kinda scary to see my little toddler's wheels turning that hard. I just know that one of these early mornings I am going to wake up and find her setting grommets with my Big Bite and making folds with my Scor-Pal.

Well, I didn't have to wait long... I just discovered where the rest of the green ink from yesterday's Ellie adventure went. Here I thought that I got it all! Instead I now have an opportunity to do a card makeover. Actually I wasn't intending to do much with the card anyway. It was a practice run with my Copics. Not only that it was the first time I inked up "Doodle This" and "Doodle That " with the coordinating alphabet from SU!. I feel so bad that it took this long to use them. Anyhow now I have a fun and very bright card to send. Gotta love it!

Shabby Princess - Monthly Desktop Download

I haven't been keeping up with the Shabby Princess free desktops since we left Barrow and it just dawned on me last night that I need to go over and download February. So here's my new February desktop compliments of the Shabby Princess. I so love their style!

Here's the link to get your free Shabby Princess desktop too: CLICK HERE!

By the way, I added the line, "Our Sweetheart... What a blessing!". Had I access to my digi accents I would of added more elements too. :-)

I hope your day is going well. I will be going to town today to run some errands. Maybe tonight I can get some stamping done. That would be such a treat! Right now I am waiting for the water to come to a boil on the wood burning stove. I boil our water to wash our dishes. The fire is down to coals so it probably won't come to a full boil but it will get close to it.

Smiles,

Copic Certification & CHA Anaheim

*THANK YOU MR. ANDREW GRANT (MY HUSBAND) FOR HELPING ME MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE!*

Hello again! Life sure has been interesting being unplugged. No email, no blogging, no blurfing (blog surfing), no inspiration... BUT on the other hand there is no pressure to answer emails, write-up posts, and to hurry up and get off the computer. There's time to just be and it has helped put some things into perspective.

So what have you been doing lately? Me? Other than getting use to cabin life in the mountains and settling into our new home/lifestyle in Oregon, I got to hangout with a few of the awesome ladies of Clear Dollar Stamps in Anaheim. Yep, I am officially announcing that I went to the Winter CHA Show in Anaheim and on top of going to the show I also became COPIC CERTIFIED! It was a total blessing to be able to attend and I had an exhaustingly great time. Lots of inspiration, laughs, and learnig this trip. Totally loved it!

So what's it like? As a designer it was exciting to meet the manufacturers in the papercrafting industry. They loved to gain any feedback us DT members would give them and they also loved to hear the "OOO's & AH's" when they showed us their latest and greatest new products. The few new products soon to come that really stand out in my mind are "The Freeze Frame" from the makers of Magic Mesh, Provo Crafts YuDu and Your Story, the makers of Cropidile's new corner puncher called the Chomper, and the new Nestability dies and embossing tools. VERY COOL!!!

I think my greatest joy was meeting all the people. Amazing fun!
