Tundra NEWS

I was feeding my baby this morning when I heard it! Sitting half asleep, rocking with my eyes closed, I heard the most wonderful sound... the gentle tones of a chirping bird. I am happy to report that the birds are starting to arrive in the arctic! It may seem silly but where I live the birds leave for the winter and return at the end of spring. I'll have to get my parka on later and go outside to see if I can catch a glimpse of one too! Pretty soon there will be birds singing around the clock as the midnight sun will be shining above all through the night (24 hours - 7 days a week of total sunlight). Yippee! Warmer weather is a coming!!!

Pictured is our empty snow covered birdhouse.

Hello, My son and his family lived in Barrow for awhile and his children went to the Barrow school. I recognized the whale bones from when we visited Barrow. Rich (my son) is with the Barrow police Dept. have you even met them?

Goodness! I'm glad you are so content in your part of the world. It's interesting to hear how others live & what makes them thankful.

Hello Patty,

Yes, I have met Officer Holschen while I was on jury duty... I think. What a small world!

Smiles,
