Sunday Drive..

"Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory." Isaiah 6:3b

Above is today's bible verse of the day. What a reminder for me, especially where I live. Sunday we took a drive to one of our favorite summer spots for a picnic. We were going to do it yesterday but we were warned that Monday's weather was not going to be as nice. I am so glad that we went ahead and did our picnic that afternoon. It was just right...barely a breeze and blue skies. It was probably around 32 degrees. Not quite sure but it was a treat! For our picnic lunch we usually get wraps from the deli. This time around we made a simple lunch. One sandwich for each of us, some BBQ chips, and a soda (water for Ellie). Unfortunately we couldn't get to our favorite spot. Quite to our surprise the usual road had been re-routed and the new road has not had time to settle meaning that the new road had knee deep mud and ruts. We headed back to town and choose a new spot next to the road. We wound up eating our lunch under our hatchback. It was awesome!!! Quiet from city noise and loaded with the sounds of birds and melting snow. After lunch we poked around the roadside. Ellie discovered rocks. It was so cute! She would bring them all to Daddy and he would throw them into a puddle. She babbled and giggled with contentment. What a blessing!!!

Thanks for letting me share about our picnic. It was so nice not to have to be geared up to eyeballs in winter gear and just enjoy the freedom of a light coat. Having an afternoon this nice is few and far between here in Barrow. The memory of our day will stay with me for quite some time. By the way, Monday's weather was foggy and today I woke to find a blanket of snow covering our driveway and deck. Sunday was a perfect picnic day!

PHOTO DETAILS:
The top photo is where we stopped to picnic. You can see Browerville side of town in the horizon. There sure was a whole lot of standing snow out there compared to town.

The second photo is of us sitting under the hatchback getting ready to eat our lunch.

The final pic is of Andrew and Ellie. She was so fascinated with those rocks and pebbles.

We had heavy snow this morning, but I have to put it all in perspective when I read your post! It was 37 today but when I see that your good day at 32 was perfect for a picnic...hey, I'm glad you got to have a picnic!
