Taking Care of BUSINESS

Guess what I got? Some prize goodies from Kimberly, Crafty Me last night! It's my first look at Martha Stewart's new crafting line. Oh what fun my goodies are! The colors are very inspiring and I look forward to making many more paper beauties from my new stash. THANK YOU KIM!

Jen, Pieces of Me, has started to post a weekly sketch challenge. At first I thought that it would be any easy one to complete until I started putting it together. I am new to sketch challenges so I tend to take them quite literal. So it's no surprise what I come up with. The hardest part for me is to pick the best stamps for the sketch. I am loving these sketch challenges. They help get me out of my creating comfort zone and are perfect for broadening my scope of design. :-)

Do you keep a stamping blog? If you do, have you signed up for reviewing UHU products at Maria Filosa's UHU Project Blog ? I received UHU Creativ' to try-out. It's an adhesive for fabrics, felt, and ribbons. At first I set it aside because I don't use those mediums as my primary card embellishments. I couldn't get past the fabrics and felt to realize that I always use ribbons. So I gave it a try. According to the instructions the glue will dry clear. I was nervous about the glue showing through the ribbon on this card. Like when you glue vellum with non-vellum tape. It really shows through and becomes distracting. At first I didn't think that the glue was going to work with the ribbon and paper because it wasn't tacky enough to hold the ribbon in place right away. It really wasn't a problem though. I held the ribbon down with my finger for a few seconds and wha-la. It stayed in place and when it finished drying there is no evidence of the glue! Isn't that cool?! I am excited about the results and I can imagine if I use UHU Creativ' for it's intended purpose that it will work very well. Maybe I should get my hands some on felt and give it a try. This deserves two smiles!

Lastly, in taking care of business. My daughter is not feeling well. She's had a fever and is crying a lot. So please keep in mind that I will be extra busy trying to keep her comfortable. She's sleeping right now.
