The BEACH
I've noticed a lot of the bloggers from the lower 48 are heading to the beach. Kimberly, Crafty Me, had some "trip to the beach" pictures posted on her blog this weekend and I thought that maybe I would make a trip to our beach and take a couple of snap shot to share. So here they are...my beach. We had open water today. I haven't noticed any open water this summer until yesterday. The shore was too muddy for me so I didn't go very far. You can see the little streams that the melting ice and snow has left on the beach. What these photos don't capture are the gentle trickling noises. They are soft and subtle gentle and soothing.
It was such a beautiful day! What a blessing. Andrew and I took Ellie for walk after evening church service. I had her under my jacket and she promptly went to sleep. She slept the entire walk comfortably on my chest. She's not accustomed to the sun light and she prefers to be shaded so being in my jacket worked out the best. Besides that it was windy and even though it was beautiful out it was still in the 20's and maybe 30's. I heard on the radio this morning that we are going to have a "special day" weather wise.... 30 degrees for sure. YEAH!

Maybe it's just me Nancy but I don't see any picture's??
Glad you had a nice time at the beach and glad it was a warm enough day to go!
Kim
Very pretty! You respond quickly! So what is the warmest it gets there in Alaska??
Ooops! I was right in the middle of posting when I had to reload the page. It must of published it before I was ready for it to be seen.
I think I'm finally done now with my edits. :-)
It can get pretty warm in other parts of Alaska. I live in the northern most part which is above the arctic circle. We get a few warm days (60-70's) every now and then. Maybe two or three days over the course of the summer. Usually not in a row. Well take them anyways. I remember our summers hanging out in the 30's to the low 50's. It's not bad when every one else has such extreme heat. We are also very dry here... no humidity.
What great photos, I visited Alaska several years ago it is such a beautiful place, it is nature at it purest. I was in southern Alaska.
30's? That sounds a bit like Chicago! We have been flip flopping between the 50's and 90's within days....not that I should complain! 30's? wow! What IS the warmest it gets in Alaska? Have you always lived there?
Wow - what a beach! Sure sounds cold to me (said as I am sweltering in 89 degrees with tons of humidity!)
30 degrees! Holy Cow. ..that's cold and I thought our low in the 50s was a bit cold for spring/summer.
What a pretty beach! I miss the beaches in Hawaii. . your picture reminds me of them.
