Last Day of Previews...

September has flown by so fast. It seems like every month this year is just whizzing by. Next thing you know it'll be 2010! Crazy-crazy isn't it? Well, today is the last day of sneak previews for Clear Dollar Stamps. I have two cards to share with you and both of the main images are birds. One is from the new set called "Winged Whispers" and the other is a single stamp of a rooster. I found both images a dream to color. There are so many different ways that birds can be colored and I used two very different techniques for these cards. The rooter was done with Copics whereas the blue jay was watercolored with markers. I think one of my most favorite aspects of cardmaking is coloring. LOVE IT!

I hope you liked all my sneak peeks. I'll have more creations to share with you later in the new month.

Howdy!

I hope you are having a wonderful day. We will be having company tomorrow so this means today will be a tidy up and laundry day. It's too cold and rainy outside right now to hang the laundry on the line that Andrew had to light a fire. It's the first fire of the season in our wood burning stove. Awe the smell of burning dust and wood. :-) In any case I am thankful for the warmth to keep us toasty and dry heat to get the laundry done.

I have another preview to share with you from Clear Dollar Stamps. It's called "Howdy Partner". I picked the cowboy and "Much obliged" sentiment for my card. Instead of using Copics this time around I chose coloring with pencils and Gamsol. I was able to get him colored up in no time at all. I just love to color!

I better get a going for now. Please be sure to see all the other previews too:

Christmas Scriptures

The verse reads, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Luke 2:11

I am so loving Clear Dollar Stamp's new holiday set called "Christmas Scriptures". This set is due to be out in October which is a few days away. I can see these stamps becoming the base for many of my Christmas cards.

Harvest Hello

Don't cha just love the changing of the seasons from Summer to Fall? I sure do. Not only does it mean cooler temps but it also means that the landscape colors will change. It's so breath taking to see the colorful variations of leaves and foliage. Even in the arctic the colors of the tundra grass changes from green to burgundies, golds, and browns. Oh how I miss that treeless landscape! Alaska still has my heart but I am content to be where God wants us to be which is in Oregon for now.

Clear Dollar Stamp's new Stamp of the Month set for October is "Harvest Hello" and is perfect for the season. You can have this set for free with your $50 purchase. Here's a sneak peek at one of my samples using "Harvest Hello".

So Many BLESSINGS!

The cardfront reads, "He has made me glad!" and "That I may proclaim with the voice of Thanksgiving, and tell of all Your wondrous works." Psalm 26:6-8

Do you believe in God's miracles? I sure do! The most recent miracle in my life is contentment. I can't tell you how long it's been since I felt like this. The only thing I can attribute it to is God changing my heart. What a blessing to be so content just to be alive and full. Thank you all for the prayers that were said on my behalf. :-)

Besides my blessings, what do I have to share with you today? It's one of the cards that I worked on this month for the October Clear Dollar Stamp's new releases. This card features "With Thanksgiving". This is a set of three. I just love the font and that it's scriptures. What an awesome compliment set for the season and for any Fall & Thankgiving stamp collection.

What are you thankful for today?

September Desktop...

You know things are behind when you don't even change your monthly desktop until the month is more than half way over. YIKES! I guess I'll have to keep this one up on my desktop extra long to make up for it. Here's what I did with the the Shabby Princess's free digital desktop monthly download. It's a snapshot of me and my sister Brenda from New York. I am so thankful to have spent a week with her last month. Our visit went fast. Maybe next time I can stay longer. Oh how I miss her... oh how I miss both my sisters. On that subject, I can't wait to go back to my Mom's!

Pink Persimmon...

This week has been full with working on my Clear Dollar Stamp assignments so I haven't stamped anything I can show you just yet. In the mean time lookie what arrived in my mailbox!!! A sweet blessing from the the ladies of the Pink Persimmon! They just announced their new creative team. Now I wasn't selected for their team this time around but who knows maybe in the future... I can hope can't I?

Oh FROGGIE...

Ah... more stamping and more challenges! SO MUCH FUN!!! I really need to finish unpacking and to start working on my design assignments but I just couldn't help playing a tad bit longer.

My friend Mary Duffek , Mo Joe Designs, posted her first blog challenge while I was out. Now that I am home I had chance to actually work on it and get it up before the deadline. I don't usually do color challenges so I thought I'd mix it up with the sketch (Beate's Weekend Sketch) from yesterday. I feel quite satisfied now.

I hope your weekend is going well and that you are feeling creatively satisfied too!

Smiles,

I'm BACK!!!

It's been a long but short month since we were last home in the cabin. We drove in from California yesterday evening. It was such a blessing to be able to spend time with my family. Ellie has been spoiled to death. Not only did she have grandparents, aunts, and uncles to give her attention she also had her bed in the same room as us. A whole month of sharing a room with our toddler has been a learning experience. For the most part I don't sleep well with her in the room... that little bugger talks in her sleep!

Anyhow, I've been stampless for the last thirty days and less than twenty-four hours of being home I just had to get inky! The best thing for easing back into stamping is using a sketch. Thankfully today is Friday and there are several bloggers that post their sketch challenges for the week. Beate's (Fresh & Fun) was the one I hit up first. So here it is my first card in forever made with Pink Persimmon's Singing Birds set.

I hope you've had a chance to stamp today like I did.

Big SMILES,
