Even after being out of the blogging loop for so long it's been such a blessing to be awarded "The Love Blog Spreader of Love Award" from Barb of Foster Design House. Sweet indeed!

Thanks Barb!

Sweet Jesus - February CDS New Releases Preview Continues...

The upcoming Clear Dollar Stamps designs are too cool. So much versatility with this new February set called "Sweet Jesus". You can make cards, wall art, and goodie bags or containers with all these stamps. LOVE IT! Besides being versatile the styles themselves are both cute and clean.

Today's samples are a mix of two goodie boxes and a card. I recycled two of the clear boxes that my stamps come in from The Angel Company to design the boxes. They were the perfect size to alter. The girlie box reads, "No Twix! Jesus Saves!" and the smaller box reads, "Jesus is nuts about you." Of course each box has the appropriate goodie inside. I kept the roasted almonds its' bag as to prevent them from getting stale. The card was done to be fun and simple. I also wanted to tryout my new Big Bite to set some grommets. It was pretty simple to add those babies when you have the right tools.

I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday. As for us, my husband and I are going through our boxes and organizing and reorganizing our stuff while the contractor has the next couple of days off. It's been pretty cool to have a contractor up here with us. Together him and my husband have been getting the renovations done to make our cabin comfortable. This move from our arctic home to a cabin in the mountains is a constant time of prayer. I miss our old home but as long as I with my family everything is going to be okay.

February SOM (Stamp of the Month) 2009 Moose - FEBRUARY NEW RELEASE

Here's a critter that's sure to be popular! The February 2009 Stamp of the Month set features the cutest moose. I can envision using this set over and over again with some of my other CDStamps. Who knows what the future holds for this guy? Wouldn't it be nice to see more of him in a regular set? By the way, SOM sets are free with with your $50 or more purchase and a new set is offered every month.

I did the birthday Moose card as matchbook card. If you look carefully you can see the shadow where the scalloped edges close at the bottom. I also love how I was able to repeat the designer paper on his birthday hat. Luckily for me I had the perfect shades of Copic markers to match. Both the circle and the moose are popped up with foam.

The second moose card was inspired by Laurie Wilson's (Clearly Delightful) cloud technique. It was very easy to make the clouds and it really helped to add that extra dimension that I was looking for. What you might not notice in this picture is the addition texture that I added with my Scor-pal. Even with the uneven lines of the Flannel Background stamp adding the straight score lines worked out fine. To accentuate the scoring I also smudge on black chalk ink.

I hope you are having a wonderfully blessed day. I am going to sneak off and take a nap while I can. I am SO TIRED! I guess that's what happens when you stay up too late and your daughter gets up early. ;-) What a blessing to be home!!!

Zoo Critters - CDSTAMPS NEW RELEASES!

It's that time again! The debuts of next months new release designs with Clear Dollar Stamps. You won't want to miss all the stamps that are coming out in February. They are all so cool! So much so that I had the hardest time picking my sample sets. I definitely was not disappointed with the designs that I had to work with.

Today's cards were made with the "Zoo Critters" set. This collection has a variety of animals that you would find at the zoo and has coordinating clever sentiments to go with it.

I chose the walrus and the toucan to ink up first. Both zoo critters were fun to play with! The only challenge I had was recalling what colors that toucans are. Instead of doing my lovely bird right on I went ahead and did "Basic Grey" style. :-) Basically I chose colors that matched up with the BG background papers. It worked really well.

Don't forget to check out all the other CDStamps design team member's preview projects too!

Project PARKA!

Hey there! Lookie!!! I have an internet connection for a couple of day because I am in Anaheim! What a blessing to be able to check email etc. Hopefully I'll be able to load up some posts to auto load later this week when I won't have a connection. After all it's that time again to for Clear Dollar Stamp previews for next month.

Anyhow, I promised way back when to share photos of the parka project that my Mom & and I was working on in December. The project itself took a little longer than what we had anticipated due my Mom having a scheduled out of town trip. Now that it's a whole month later here are some snapshots of it finally all done right before we mailed it off to Laurie in Barrow. I love how it turned out. It's totally gorgeous! Although my Mom & I made the parka Laurie picked out her trim, fabric, and fur. The combination worked out well and I hope you like how it turned out.

Smiles,

Inkcicles UNPLUGGED!

Hey there, it's been a really-really long month hasn't it? Right now I don't have any regular access to the internet. It will be just a while longer until we have any services to our cabin. I MISS YOU ALL!!!

Until I get plugged back in or can find a closer wireless connection... I'll be back!

Smiles,
~nance

I don't know if you noticed but the Eggs-tra Special Chick card was made using papers from the Wassail Basic Grey Collection which is in a Christmas theme. :-) The colors in this collection are classic and I know I'll find lots of uses for it beyond the Christmas season.
