Days before I left Barrow my Mom & I decided to take on a sewing project together. In my lifetime we have sewn together several times. Each time I learn something new and I am reminded how much I value her. It's so nice to collaborate on creative projects. She is definitely the stronger seamstress that keeps me on task. :-)
So... what's our project? It's a commissioned parka for my best friend Laurie. For now me and Mom are about half way through and we will be getting the tough stuff done by tomorrow. I'll have all the hand sewing to do on the weekend. Hand stitching is not my favorite thing to do but the results are well worth it. Hopefully I'll have more pics to post after the weekend.
For now, here's a peek at the ribbon trim that will adorn the ruffle skirt. It might not look like much now but it's gonna really make her parka pop. It's so gorgeous. These photos don't do it justice. Again I hope to share the final outcome later next week.
Just to recap, I am still in the midst of our big move and I haven't had any access to my stamping stuffs. It's a drag not stamping and I've found myself going through withdrawals. What's made it worse is that I haven't had much time to blurf (blog surf) either. I miss you all!!!
